Call For Artists

Let us put you on the map!

The Westwood Village Improvement Association is seeking submissions from an LA artist to create artwork for the SPRING/SUMMER issue of the Westwood Village Map + Directory! The chosen artist will receive a special prize package!

Images must be original and Westwood Village inspired. Let our rich history and bright future be your muse!

Guidelines:

The theme must include images of “Westwood Village.”

• Mediums may include Paintings, Illustrations, Photography, and/or Collage.
• Artwork will be printed on the cover of the SPRING/SUMMER issue of the Westwood Village Map & Directory, as well as featured on thewestwoodvillage.com website and across all social media channels.
• 20,000 maps are printed in each edition and distributed at key locations throughout Westwood Village, hotels, businesses, bus lines, as well as on UCLA’s campus.

Cover Design Options 1 & 2:

Artists have the option of using the cover overlay or fully redesigning the cover. Details are listed below.

Cover Art Option 1 – Image insert using overlay (Provide an image that can be inserted into the existing cover file)

• Image size, file type and specs:

  • The image must be at least 2.5” x 6.25”, 300 dpi, CMYK (.jpg or .tiff) the following is required for all submissions for Option 1. Files not in this format will not be considered.

  • The WVIA is allowed to crop and/or electronically alter the image to suit their purposes for the usage stated above.

Cover Art Option 2 – Full cover redesign (Change the design entirely with a new look)

• Image size, file type and specs:

  • The image must be at least 4 x 8.5 trim, include .25 bleed allowance, ¼” margins for live matter, CMYK, 300dpi, PD1xa with crop and bleed preferred. The following is required for all submissions for Option 2. Files not in this format will not be considered.

  • The image must include the WVIA logo, “Westwood Village Map + Directory.”

  • The WVIA is allowed to crop and/or electronically alter the image to suit their purposes for the usage stated above.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: FRIDAY, JANUARY 31ST AT 5PM.

Entries made after the time and date will not be considered. Submissions must be sent in its native form via GoogleDrive or Dropbox link. Other arrangements can be made by contacting the WVIA offices directly.

When submitting art, please be advised, all images submitted will be automatically entered into the contest and may be used on social media channels in the future.

The artist grants the WVIA the non-exclusive use of the image described above for usage on the Westwood Village Map + Directory, social media and other promotional materials. Photo credit/acknowledgement of the artists name, social media handle must be given when the image(s) are submitted. The WVIA will caption or a link/acknowledgement when appropriate.
